DVSA Enhanced Rider
Scheme

The Enhanced Rider Scheme (ERS) is ideal for those who have recently passed their full motorcycle test, upgrading to a more powerful motorcycle or returning to motorcycle riding after an extended period out of the saddle.

The Enhanced Rider Scheme does not involve a test, but instead involves continuous rider assessment, and after successful completion, the issue of a certificate of competence which can use to get a discount on your Motorcycle Insurance.

Typically the course lasts around 4 - 5 sessions depending on your riding standard and training is delivered on a 1:2:1 basis, but if you bring a friend who has a similar riding style we can deliver this on a 1:2:2 basis.

The typical course cost is £150 based on five hours tuition or £200 with two students.

If you're riding is already of a very high standard you could receive your ERS certificate at the end of one session but for most people we develop an individual training plan to match your specific needs.

RoSPA Advanced Rider Qualification

A RoSPA Gold Advanced Riding qualification is often considered to be the highest civilian riding standard available and is monitored and approved by the DVSA.

It is based on the police system of motorcycle control 'Roadcraft' and is graded at Bronze, Silver and Gold with re-tests every three years.

During your Advanced Motorcycle Training you will be taught the Police system of motorcycle control 'Roadcraft'  and how to apply it. This will include how to read bends including the correct speed and position, throttle and brake control, advanced & linked observation, anticipation & defensive riding techniques, overtaking, wet weather riding etc. An Advanced rider is equipped with the knowledge and skill to ride safely and effectively in all conditions.

It is unlikely that anyone will gain a high grade without a good knowledge of the current editions of The Highway Code and Motorcycle Roadcraft.

Typically training is delivered on a 1:2:1 basis and course duration can vary depending on your individual training plan.

It typically takes between 3 and 6 months to complete the training depending on you riding standard. Our initial assessment ride is £20 with subsequent two hour training sessions priced at £50.
